| Danielle Quigley |

Danielle is pictured here with her horse Gilley. |
Danielle is from County Durham and has been dead keen on horses since early childhood - probably the fact that her mum is horsey too helped!!
Danielle did a stint in Pony Club, mounted games etc before finding her niche in showjumping. In 1997 she was awarded the BSJA Area 12 and 12A Trophy as a result of her success.
Four years were then spent studying for a BA (hons) degree, followed by training for BHS exams with tremendous help from Marianne Watts. Danielle currently holds her Stage 3. Danielle has recently taken up eventing and can't wait for the 2006 season to begin.
You may have spotted Danielle in the papers towards the end of last year, when she was hailed a heroine for rescuing a drowning horse from the swollen River Wear, which had escaped from its rider and leapt in. Danielle said: "The horse kept turning over and getting dragged under with its legs in the air". Danielle jumped into the freezing water and managed to grab the horses' bridle and swim with it to shore. Phew - all sounds terrifying - a brave girl indeed!!
Danielle's family have recently purchased a 64-acre farm at Holmside Hall, Burnhope where the plan is to develop a top class livery and equestrian centre. Good luck to the Quigley's in their new venture. |
